My childhood years were filled with many colorful and joyful years. What I miss most about my childhood times are evenings playing outside of our backyards being worried free while my parents are working hard in their garden. Some evenings I would be chasing after dragon flies and other times I would be riding my bike pretending I am on a long quest to a friend's house who lived so far although I was only driving around and around the yard. Another memory that I can almost feel as if I am living it in the present is the sound of my dad's mowing machine and the smell of freshly cut grass. I love the sound of the crickets as they are busying their ways into the night while I rest assure next to my siblings listening to my dad's many wonderous stories. Of course, I usually fall asleep half way into the story, but at least I wake up in my bed the next morning.
This summer (2011), although it was not as worried free and I did not biked around my backyard but rather around town, I did meet new friends and made great memories. My family and I still kept our tradition of camping, which was filled with many laughter and mosquito bites. Sigh...I am already sad now that the summer is almost ending. Soon I will be collecting this year's summer break memories and storing it with my other many memories that I had kept close to my heart. Although fall and winter will be approaching soon, I know summer is only a few months after that hence, I will rest and gain energy to play the following summer break =)
